New Ransomware has surfaced (Update)

Although ransomware is not a new scourge in the computer world, a new variation has recently surfaced. The old ransomware would lock you out of your computer until you paid the hijacker a fee to unlock your system. This new variant encrypts your data files. You need a “Key” to un-encrypt the files.

PDF files

When people think of PDF (Protable Document Format) files they think of Adobe reader and Adobe products. Adobe is the company that made PDFs so popular in the 90′s. Most computer users are familar with Adobe reader and use it to view PDF files. Just because they are the most popular does not mean they are the best. I few programs we like that do the same thing and better are Foxit Reader and Bullzip Printer. Foxit reader is the equivalent to Adobe reader but is much faster at opening and viewing PDFs. Not to mention it doesn’t nag you to update every single time you use it like Adobe does. Bullzip will install as printer in your computer. So anything on your computer that you can print you can also turn into a PDF. Best thing about these programs is that they are free. We like free!
